PMS Preparation

Provincial Management Service (PMS) Preparation:

What is PMS?

PMS stands for Provincial Management Service. It’s a competitive exam being conducted by the provincial governments of Pakistan through its Commissions namely Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC), Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPSC), Azad Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (AJKPSC). Candidates have to clear PMS test, including a written test, psychological test and interview; who passed these PMS tests are offered government job as a First Class Officer (Grade 17). An officer passing this exam is called PMS Officer.

What Do We Offer?

HoCA offers preparatory classes for all PMS and PSC examinations once they are announced. This includes PMS Punjab, PMS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PMS Sindh, PSC Balochistan, PSC Gilgit-Baltistan, and PSC Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The course is completed within 5 Months. Students are trained through a rigorous testing system that includes weekly tests, surprise assessments, quizzes, and monthly exams. This continuous evaluation helps sharpen analytical thinking, improve writing quality, and develop the speed and confidence needed to excel in competitive examinations.

PMS – PUNJAB:

Provincial Management Service (PMS) is the premier civil service of the province dedicated to the betterment and uplift of the general public. PMS officers come from many streams, i.e, 50% through promotion from Tehsildars, Superintendents, Personal Secretaries, etc and 50% through open merit competitive examinations held every year. However, the main chunk of officers are recruited directly into BPS 17 after qualifying rigorous examinations {C.C.E of 12 papers} and scrutiny {post written tests of 4 stages} by the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).

Subject & Syllabus of PMS Punjab:

The examination will consist of six compulsory subjects and three optional subjects. The details of the papers are given below:

Written Examination:

  • (Six Papers) Compulsory Total 600 Marks
  • (Three Papers) Optional Total 600 Marks
  • Psychological Test and Interview/Viva Voce: 200 Marks

PMS – SINDH:

1. The written examination shall include compulsory and optional subjects.
2. Every candidate shall take all the compulsory subjects and three of the optional subjects, subject to the following restrictions:-
a. No more than two subjects shall be taken from each group.
b. Not more than two subjects shall be taken from among subjects at Sr. No. 10, 11, 18, 19 and 34 (Arabic Literature period I and II, Islamic History Period I & II Islamiat.).
3. A candidate shall answer the papers in English unless otherwise directed.

Written Examination:

  • (Five Papers) Compulsory Total 450 Marks
  • (Three Papers) Optional Total 450 Marks

PMS – KPK:

The institution of the Public Service Commission, for the first time, evolved under article 264,265 and 266 of the Government of India Act 1935. Article 188 of the 1956 Constitution and Article 186 of 1962 Constitution of Pakistan provided for the establishment of the Public Service Commission. The Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Public Service Commission is established under article 242 of the 1973 Constitution and is functional under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PSC Ordinance 1978.

Subject & Syllabus of PMS Punjab:

The Examination shall include compulsory and optional subjects, and every candidate shall take all the compulsory subjects and opt for three of the optional subjects carrying 600 marks in all but not more than 200 marks from a single group.

  • Four Papers + Viva Voce Compulsory Total 900 Marks
  • Three Papers Optional Total 600 Marks
